    [niv] Simon answered, "Master, we've worked hard all night and haven't caught anything. But because you say so, I will let down the nets."

    [niv] While Jesus was in one of the towns, a man came along who was covered with leprosy. When he saw Jesus, he fell with his face to the ground and begged him, "Lord, if you are willing, you can make me clean."
    [asv] And it came to pass, while he was in one of the cities, behold, a man full of leprosy: and when he saw Jesus, he fell on his face, and besought him, saying, Lord, if thou wilt, thou canst make me clean.
    [jnd] And it came to pass as he was in one of the cities, that behold, there was a man full of leprosy, and seeing Jesus, falling upon his face, he besought him saying, Lord, if thou wilt, thou art able to cleanse me.

    [bbe] And it came about that while he was in one of the towns, there was a leper there: and when he saw Jesus he went down on his face in prayer to him, saying, Lord, if it is your pleasure, you have power to make me clean.

    [niv] Jesus reached out his hand and touched the man. "I am willing," he said. "Be clean!" And immediately the leprosy left him.

    [niv] Then Jesus ordered him, "Don't tell anyone, but go, show yourself to the priest and offer the sacrifices that Moses commanded for your cleansing, as a testimony to them."
    [asv] And he charged him to tell no man: but go thy way, and show thyself to the priest, and offer for thy cleansing, according as Moses commanded, for a testimony unto them.

    [niv] Yet the news about him spread all the more, so that crowds of people came to hear him and to be healed of their sicknesses.
    [asv] But so much the more went abroad the report concerning him: and great multitudes came together to hear, and to be healed of their infirmities.

5:18 [cbgb] 有人用褥子抬着一个瘫子,要抬进去放在耶稣面前, < | >
    [niv] Some men came carrying a paralytic on a mat and tried to take him into the house to lay him before Jesus.
    [asv] And behold, men bring on a bed a man that was palsied: and they sought to bring him in, and to lay him before him.
    [jnd] And lo, men bringing upon a couch a man who was paralysed; and they sought to bring him in, and put before him.
    [kjv] And, behold, men brought in a bed a man which was taken with a palsy: and they sought means to bring him in, and to lay him before him.
    [nwb] And behold, men brought in a bed a man who was taken with the palsy: and they sought to bring him in, and to lay before him.
    [rsv] And behold, men were bringing on a bed a man who was paralyzed, and they sought to bring him in and lay him before Jesus;
    [web] Behold, men brought a paralyzed man on a cot, and they sought to bring him in to lay before him.
    [ylt] And lo, men bearing upon a couch a man, who hath been struck with palsy, and they were seeking to bring him in, and to place before him,
    [bbe] And some men had with them, on a bed, a man who was ill, without power of moving; and they made attempts to get him in and put him before Jesus.
5:19 [cbgb] 却因人多,寻不出法子抬进去,就上了房顶,从瓦间把他连褥子缒到当中,正在耶稣面前。 < | >
    [niv] When they could not find a way to do this because of the crowd, they went up on the roof and lowered him on his mat through the tiles into the middle of the crowd, right in front of Jesus.
    [asv] And not finding by what way they might bring him in because of the multitude, they went up to the housetop, and let him down through the tiles with his couch into the midst before Jesus.
    [jnd] And not finding what way to bring him in, on account of the crowd, going up on the housetop they let him down through the tiles, with his little couch, into the midst before Jesus.
    [kjv] And when they could not find by what way they might bring him in because of the multitude, they went upon the housetop, and let him down through the tiling with his couch into the midst before Jesus.

    [bbe] And because of the mass of people, there was no way to get him in; so they went up on the top of the house and let him down through the roof, on his bed, into the middle in front of Jesus.

    [niv] When Jesus saw their faith, he said, "Friend, your sins are forgiven."
    [asv] And seeing their faith, he said, Man, thy sins are forgiven thee.

    [niv] The Pharisees and the teachers of the law began thinking to themselves, "Who is this fellow who speaks blasphemy? Who can forgive sins but God alone?"
    [asv] And the scribes and the Pharisees began to reason, saying, Who is this that speaketh blasphemies? Who can forgive sins, but God alone?
