    [niv] Jesus said to his disciples: "Things that cause people to sin are bound to come, but woe to that person through whom they come.
    [asv] And he said unto his disciples, It is impossible but that occasions of stumbling should come; but woe unto him, through whom they come!
    [jnd] And he said to his disciples, It cannot be but that offences come, but woe by whom they come!
    [kjv] Then said he unto the disciples, It is impossible but that offences will come: but woe unto him, through whom they come!
    [nwb] Then he said to the disciples, It is impossible but that causes of sin will come: but woe by whom they come!
    [rsv] And he said to his disciples, "Temptations to sin are sure to come; but woe to him by whom they come!
    [web] . He said to the disciples, "It is impossible that occasions of stumbling should not come, but woe to him through whom they come!
    [ylt] And he said unto the disciples, `It is impossible for the stumbling blocks not to come, but wo through whom they come;
    [bbe] And he said to his disciples, It is necessary for causes of trouble to come about, but unhappy is he by whom they come.
    [niv] It would be better for him to be thrown into the sea with a millstone tied around his neck than for him to cause one of these little ones to sin.
    [asv] It were well for him if a millstone were hanged about his neck, and he were thrown into the sea, rather than that he should cause one of these little ones to stumble.
    [jnd] It would be profitable for him if a millstone were hanged about his neck and he cast into the sea, than that he should be a snare to one of these little ones.
    [kjv] It were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and he cast into the sea, than that he should offend one of these little ones.
    [nwb] It were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and he cast into the sea, than that he should cause one of these little ones to fall into sin.
    [rsv] It would be better for him if a millstone were hung round his neck and he were cast into the sea, than that he should cause one of these little ones to sin.
    [web] It would be better for him if a millstone were hanged about his neck, and he were thrown into the sea, rather than that he should cause one of these little ones to stumble.
    [ylt] it is more profitable to him if a weighty millstone is put round about his neck, and he hath been cast into the sea, than that he may cause one of these little ones to stumble.
    [bbe] It would be well for him if a great stone was put round his neck and he was dropped into the sea, before he made trouble for any of these little ones.
    [niv] So watch yourselves. "If your brother sins, rebuke him, and if he repents, forgive him.
    [asv] Take heed to yourselves: if thy brother sin, rebuke him; and if he repent, forgive him.
    [jnd] Take heed to yourselves: if thy brother should sin, rebuke him; and if he should repent, forgive him.
    [kjv] Take heed to yourselves: If thy brother trespass against thee, rebuke him; and if he repent, forgive him.
    [nwb] Take heed to yourselves: If thy brother shall trespass against thee, rebuke him; and if he shall repent forgive him.
    [rsv] Take heed to yourselves; if your brother sins, rebuke him, and if he repents, forgive him;
    [web] Be careful. If your brother sins against you, rebuke him. If he repents, forgive him.
    [ylt] `Take heed to yourselves, and, if thy brother may sin in regard to thee, rebuke him, and if he may reform, forgive him,
    [bbe] Give attention to yourselves: if your brother does wrong, say a sharp word to him; and if he has sorrow for his sin, let him have forgiveness.
    [niv] If he sins against you seven times in a day, and seven times comes back to you and says, `I repent,' forgive him."
    [asv] And if he sin against thee seven times in the day, and seven times turn again to thee, saying, I repent; thou shalt forgive him.
    [jnd] And if he should sin against thee seven times in the day, and seven times should return to thee, saying, I repent, thou shalt forgive him.
    [kjv] And if he trespass against thee seven times in a day, and seven times in a day turn again to thee, saying, I repent; thou shalt forgive him.
    [nwb] And if he shall trespass against thee seven times in a day, and seven times in a day shall turn again to thee, saying, I repent; thou shalt forgive him.
    [rsv] and if he sins against you seven times in the day, and turns to you seven times, and says, 'I repent,' you must forgive him."
    [web] If he sins against you seven times in the day, and seven times turns again, saying, 'I repent,' you shall forgive him."
    [ylt] and if seven times in the day he may sin against thee, and seven times in the day may turn back to thee, saying, I reform; thou shalt forgive him.'
    [bbe] And if he does you wrong seven times in a day, and seven times comes to you and says, I have regret for what I have done; let him have forgiveness.

    [niv] He replied, "If you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mulberry tree, `Be uprooted and planted in the sea,' and it will obey you.
    [asv] And the Lord said, If ye had faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye would say unto this sycamine tree, Be thou rooted up, and be thou planted in the sea; and it would obey you.
    [jnd] But the Lord said, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard , ye had said to this sycamine tree, Be thou rooted up, and be thou planted in the sea, and it would have obeyed you.
    [kjv] And the Lord said, If ye had faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye might say unto this sycamine tree, Be thou plucked up by the root, and be thou planted in the sea; and it should obey you.
    [nwb] And the Lord said, If ye had faith as a grain of mustard-seed, ye might say to this sycamine-tree, Be thou plucked up by the root, and be thou planted in the sea; and it would obey you.
    [rsv] And the Lord said, "If you had faith as a grain of mustard seed, you could say to this sycamine tree, 'Be rooted up, and be planted in the sea,' and it would obey you.
    [web] . The Lord said, "If you had faith as a grain of mustard seed, you would tell this sycamore tree, 'Be uprooted, and be planted in the sea,' and it would obey you.
    [ylt] and the Lord said, `If ye had faith as a grain of mustard, ye would have said to this sycamine, Be uprooted, and be planted in the sea, and it would have obeyed you.
    [bbe] And the Lord said, If your faith was only as great as a grain of mustard seed, you might say to this tree, Be rooted up and planted in the sea; and it would be done.

    [niv] "Suppose one of you had a servant plowing or looking after the sheep. Would he say to the servant when he comes in from the field, `Come along now and sit down to eat'?
    [asv] But who is there of you, having a servant plowing or keeping sheep, that will say unto him, when he is come in from the field, Come straightway and sit down to meat;
    [jnd] But which of you who, having a bondman ploughing or shepherding, when he comes in out of the field, will say, Come and lie down immediately to table?
    [kjv] But which of you, having a servant plowing or feeding cattle, will say unto him by and by, when he is come from the field, Go and sit down to meat?
    [nwb] But which of you having a servant plowing, or feeding cattle, will say to him immediately, when he is come from the field, Go and sit down to eat?

    [bbe] But which of you, having a servant who is ploughing or keeping sheep, will say to him, when he comes in from the field, Come now and be seated and have a meal,
    [niv] Would he not rather say, `Prepare my supper, get yourself ready and wait on me while I eat and drink; after that you may eat and drink'?
    [asv] and will not rather say unto him, Make ready wherewith I may sup, and gird thyself, and serve me, till I have eaten and drunken; and afterward thou shalt eat and drink?
    [jnd] But will he not say to him, Prepare what I shall sup on, and gird thyself and serve me that I may eat and drink; and after that *thou* shalt eat and drink?
