    [asv] The fear of Jehovah is the beginning of knowledge;  But the foolish despise wisdom and instruction.

    [niv] "How long will you simple ones love your simple ways? How long will mockers delight in mockery and fools hate knowledge?
    [asv] How long, ye simple ones, will ye love simplicity?  And scoffers delight them in scoffing,  And fools hate knowledge?  
    [jnd] How long, simple ones, will ye love simpleness, and scorners take pleasure in their scorning, and the foolish hate knowledge?

    [niv] If you had responded to my rebuke, I would have poured out my heart to you and made my thoughts known to you.
    [asv] Turn you at my reproof:  Behold, I will pour out my spirit upon you;  I will make known my words unto you.

    [jnd] For the turning away of the simple shall slay them, and the prosperity of the foolish shall cause them to perish.
